Reverend Scott Bohr is a native of Rockford, Illinois, but spent his high school years on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Before becoming an ordained Presbyterian Pastor, he was a music and youth minister for 12 years in California, Washington, and Pennsylvania. His enthusiastic and passionate approach to leadership and gifts for worship and music led him to an awareness of God's even larger call on his life and eventually to seminary in 1990.
Prior to ministry, Scott was a Credit and Collections manager for a men's clothing company in Foster City, California. It was during this time in the San Francisco Bay area that he felt God's reminder of the commitment he had made years earlier to serve the Lord. While in California, Scott recommitted his life to Christ and began again to use his deep love of the Lord and of people, starting with Menlo Park Presbyterian Church's music and youth ministries.
Scott began full time ministry as the Minister of Music at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Yakima, Washington. He also served as an assistant youth minister while on staff at WPC. The call to ordained ministry was still forming but the gifts were present. A change in leadership and structure at WPC necessitated Scott and his family to relocate to the east coast in December 1989. He was a stay at home father for several months (daughter Karin was two and daughter Allison was eight months at the time) as God worked on his heart and prepared him for seminary even though he had enrolled in graduate school at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey, his alma mater. God's plan was different and in September 1990, Scott began seminary at Eastern Seminary in Philadelphia. At this time he also became the Executive Director of the Summer Evangelistic Committee, one of the oldest ongoing evangelistic outreaches in the United States. In addition while in seminary and serving as the SEC's Executive Director, Scott served as Director of Music for Eastern Seminary as Music and Youth Director at 1st Presbyterian Church in Willow Grove, and also led retreats and workshops on music and youth ministry.
God's calling led Scott to travel extensively throughout the United States and around the world, including Western Europe, Brazil, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Russia and the Ukraine. He is called frequently to speak for youth retreats, teach at leadership training events and facilitate church planning and goal setting for church boards. He is currently working on his PhD at the Oxford Graduate School affiliated with Oxford University in England.
Scott has been serving as the Pastor of Bridesburg Presbyterian Church since April, 2007. On 8/27/2011 he married Rose Orletzkiy who is his helpmate and completely involved in the work of the church. The church has grown spiritually and in numbers during his pastorate and is known for being "kid friendly" and the "come as you are church".
